Northern Dutchess Symphony Orchestra and Dutchess Community College Music School’s Musiclink Scholarship program paired up for a well-attended fundraiser/ friendraiser Sunday April 22, 2018 at the Culinary Institute’s Caterina De’ Medici restaurant. Billed as “Duets with Friends”, the event included hors d’oeuvres, beverages, a silent auction of locally-sourced items and a unique tour of the Culinary. The centerpiece of the afternoon was a series of duet performances featuring students from the DCC Music School who benefit from the MusicLink Scholarship program. Tickets were $60 per person and proceeds will support DCC Music School’s Musiclink Scholarship Program and Northern Dutchess Symphony Orchestra’s efforts to attract top-notch guest soloists for ongoing performances in Rhinebeck, at the Culinary Institute and beyond. “We are very excited to bring such experienced and talented artists to this unique event,” says event co-chair and DCC Music School Director, Laura Doe. “Since there were limited tickets available, guests had a personal experience with DCC teachers who are professional musicians, performing with their private lesson students”. Proceeds will be shared 50/50 between the two organizations. “We are thrilled with what we hope will be an ongoing partnership with the DCC Music School. Our regular concert goers enjoyed the unique concert experience, while getting to know new local music lovers”, said Northern Dutchess Symphony Orchestra Board Vice President, Jennifer Henion. The organizations appreciate all of their supporters including Stamell Strings, the event sponsor. Further Information
