Northern Dutchess Symphony Orchestra (NDSO) was founded in 2006 to bring high-quality live orchestral music to northern Dutchess County and the surrounding Hudson Valley region. For its first 20 seasons, the orchestra was led by Music Director and Conductor Kathleen Beckmann, whose artistic vision, leadership, and dedication helped shape the NDSO into the vibrant community orchestra it is today.
Today, the orchestra continues that tradition under the direction of Music Director and Conductor William Stevens, building on the strong foundation established over the past two decades while looking ahead to an exciting new chapter.
NDSO features 40 to 50 musicians, depending on the repertoire, and presents a season of five main concerts, along with special performances throughout the year. The orchestra regularly welcomes internationally acclaimed guest artists, talented soloists, and community collaborators, offering inspiring live performances at family-friendly prices for audiences throughout the Hudson Valley.
