Last week, local school buses lined up to bring over 1,200 students and chaperones to NDSO’s second annual Children’s Concert!
On Tuesday, March 11, 2025, the "Sound Waves" concert made a splash with two performances at the Culinary Institute of America’s Marriott Pavilion. This year’s student soloist, Timothy He—a talented seventh grader from Orville A. Todd Middle School—performed a breathtaking rendition of The Swan by Camille Saint-Saëns. The water-themed program featured classics like Handel’s “Water Music,” film favorites from “Pirates of the Caribbean,” and the beloved “Part of Your World” from Disney’s “The Little Mermaid.” Students’ artwork for “The Moldau” was projected on the big screen and there was a call and response for excerpts from Strauss’s “Blue Danube Waltz!” NDSO musicians also provided live demonstrations on the big screen, giving students a close-up look at their instruments and techniques. A huge thank you to our incredible students, teachers, and the Culinary Institute of America for hosting this unforgettable event! NDSO looks forward to offering this program again to the community.
