About the program
Enjoy a fun evening of blockbuster movie scores including Back to the Future, Mission Impossible, Forrest Gump, The Godfather, Doctor Zhivago, La La Land, and more. The concert concludes with a medley of all your favorite James Bond movies. Featured performers are harmonicist Jiayi He and violinist Marka Young.

Guest Harmonicist - Jiayi He

Jiayi He, a world-class harmonica virtuoso, winner of prestigious awards in America, Europe, and the Far East, He has served as a member of the judging committees in the Asia-Pacific Harmonica Festivals held in Asian countries.
Jiayi performed as a soloist with numerous orchestras worldwide. He has been a soloist at Carnegie Hall, General Assembly Hall at United Nations and other premier venues. Jiayi He has performed in Austria, China, England, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Israel, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Scotland, Singapore, Taiwan, and the United States. Jiayi currently serves on the faculty of the Turtle Bay Music School in New York City. He has appeared on TV stations including NBC, New 12 Long Island, Queens Public Television, SinoVision, Sino Television and many more. Violinist Marka Young is a dynamic performer noted for her warm, rich tone and evocative lyrical lines. The New York Concert Review has written that Ms. Young plays “… with a broad, majestic interpretation and a full-bodied sound.” Ms. Young performs a wide variety of programs and is experienced as a solo performer on modern, classical, and baroque violin.
Ms. Young serves as the Assistant Concertmaster of the Hudson Valley Philharmonic and is a member of the Hudson Valley String Quartet. She has performed as a soloist throughout the U.S., at Weill Hall at Carnegie Hall, the Bach Aria Festival, Blossom Festival, Connecticut Early Music Festival, The Storm King New Music Festival, and for Northern Duchess Symphony Orchestra, as well as with numerous colleges and universities, and as an Artist in Residence at Banff. A student of many different violin disciplines, she has studied modern violin performance closely with Dorothy Delay, Camilla Wicks, and Joyce Robbins - while delving deeply into the baroque and classical intricacies with specialists Enrico Gatti, Jorge-Michael Schwarz, and Nancy Wilson. Ms. Young teaches violin at Vassar College in Poughkeepsie, NY, and maintains a studio of violin students in the Mid-Hudson Valley. Learn More |
