Educational Workshops and Performances

The Northern Dutchess Symphony Orchestra presented Opera Ritaglia "The Marriage of Figaro" at FDR High School in Hyde Park, New York on January 23, 2010. During the two weeks prior to that performance, our conductor and opera soloists visited schools in the Hyde Park District to perform for students. Joining the musicians for the high school workshop was an NDSO board member who presented a seminar on the historical background for the opera and how it relates to the Age of Enlightenment in Western Philosophy.
