Lillia Keyes

Lillia Keyes, cellist, is from Poughkeepsie, New York. She is entering her senior at the Cleveland Institute of Music. Lillia began her studies of the cello with Nanette Koch at age 6. In 2001 Ms. Keyes was accepted into The Preparatory Division of the Juilliard School to study with renowned teacher Ardyth Alton. In her senior year of Juilliard Pre-College Lillia studied with Fred Sherry. Lillia was a member of the New York Youth Symphony for three years. Lillia has won numerous competitions and played recitals throughout New York and Cleveland. Lillia was featured on the National radio show From The Top with her piano trio from Juilliard. For the past two years she participated in the New York String Orchestra Seminar. Her love of orchestra has brought her to Cleveland to study with former principal cellist of the Cleveland Orchestra, Stephen Geber. Lillia aspires to be a cellist in a major orchestra. This summer she participated in the Spoleto Festival USA and the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival in Germany.

Shanna Andrawis

Shanna Andrawis, born and raised in Southern California, received her B.A. in History at the University of California, Irvine and her M.M. in Voice Performance and Pedagogy from Westminster Choir College in Princeton, New Jersey. While at Westminster, Ms. Andrawis studied voice with Faith Esham and vocal repertoire with J.J. Penna and Dalton Baldwin. As a member of Westminster’s Symphonic Choir, Ms. Andrawis performed with the New Jersey Philharmonic, the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, and the New York Philharmonic under guest conductor Ricardo Muti. In winter of 2005, Ms. Andrawis participated as an alumni member of the Westminster choir in the “Royal Christmas” tour with Andrea Bocelli and Denyce Graves. Since moving to the Hudson Valley last year, Ms. Andrawis has joined Capella Festiva and a yet-unnamed vocal quintet. Last spring, she was the soprano soloist in Capella’s performance of Antonin Dvorak’s Mass in D-major. Ms. Andrawis was also a featured soloist in the 2007 Hudson Valley Bachfest. Ms. Andrawis also enjoys performing drama and musical theater. Her theater credits include West Side Story (Maria), Fools (Sophia), Fiddler on the Roof (Chava), Bye, Bye Birdie (Kim), Oliver (Bet), Pirates of Penzance (chorus), and Jesus Christ Superstar (chorus/dancer). Ms. Andrawis is currently pursuing her N.Y. state teaching credential in secondary education.

Kimberly Kahan

Lyric Soprano Kimberly Kahan enjoys an accomplished career with opera companies and orchestras throughout the country. She has earned great acclaim for her musical and dramatic interpretations for such signature roles as Hanna Glawari in The Merry Widow and Donna Elvira in Don Giovanni, as well as title roles in Susannah and Arrabella

Recent critical acclaim for her role as the  Merry Widow:

 Ms. Kahan is stunning.  She has a beautiful voice and tremendous stage presence.  When she sings, it appears effortless. Particularly enjoyable is the number “Villa.” Kahan shines on this critically praised Leher song.—Vinncent Alexander.  

Other recent roles include Micaela in Bizets Carmen in Tel Aviv Israel with Josh Majors directing; Featured soprano in the world premier of Kyle Gann’s opera Cinderella’s Bad Magic in Moscow and St Petersburg, Russia. 

 Ms Kahan performs regularly as a soloist at Bard College, including The Lord Nelson Mass under the baton of James Bagwell, The Angel in the Respighi  Laudate Nativita with conductor Sharon Bjorndal,  and with the American Symphony, Leon Botstein conducting.   

A favorite of European audiences, Ms.Kahan has appeared in concert in many cities including Helsinki, Copenhagen, Nice, Naples, Istanbul and Athens where she has performed such pieces as Braham’s’ Liebeslieder Walzer,  Debussy's Arriette Oubliee, and CanteloubesChants D’Auvergne.  

Equally comfortable in the Oratorio venue, she has performed as the soprano soloist in works by Beethoven, (Mass in C and the Ninth Symphony), as well as Bach’s (B Minor Mass and Magnificat), Haydn’s Lord Nelson Mass and the Requiems of Brahms, Faure, Mozart and Verdi.

Jeremy Moore

A native of a tiny mountain town in the heart of the Rocky Mountains of Colorado, Jeremy J. Moore made his debut in this country at age ten singing the title role of Amahl and the Night Visitors.  He continued on to repeat the role for nine more productions, and to sing numerous lead roles in children’s Operas with the Aspen Opera Theatre Center in Colorado.  In 2003 he made his European debut in performances, in German, of Nardo in La finta giardiniera and Papageno in Die Zauberflöte in Salzburg, Austria.  Recent opera engagements include concert performances of Il barbiere di Siviglia (Figaro) with the Northern Dutchess Symphony Orchestra, and Little Women (John Brooke) with the dell’Arte Opera Ensemble, and full productions of Carmen (Morales) with the Bronx Opera Company, Amahl and the Night Visitors (Melchior), La fille du Regiment (Corporal) and Die Fledermaus (Dr. Blind/Ivan/Dr. Falke) with Opera Company of the Highlands.

Apart from Opera, he has performed extensively in oratorio, solo recitals and ensemble concerts throughout the United States, including with the Aspen Choral Society and Orchestra, with which he has also performed oratorio works written especially for him by Ray Vincent Adams, and as guest soloist with the Purdue University Symphonic Band and the Lafayette (Indiana) Symphony Orchestra. He has won a number of grants and awards from The Allied Arts, The Orville Moore Endowment, Concerts Plus Vocal Award and Mary Leonardi Memorial Award for Vocal Excellence.

Having previously lived and studied in Munich, Germany, he now makes his home with his wife, Heather, in the Hudson Highlands. 

Steven Nanni

Tenor Steven Nanni recently performed the roles Nemorino in Donizetti’s L’elisir D’amore, and Don Ramiro in Rossini’s La Cenerentola with the New York Opera Studio, under the direction of conductor Luis Menendez, diction coach Nico Castel, and stage director Carol Castel. Critics and Nico Castel proclaimed Mr. Nanni to be a great bel canto tenor, following in the footsteps of the famous Juan Diego-Florez.

Mr. Nanni’s recital tour in the fall of 2006 included performances in Ithaca, NY, Syracuse, NY, Scranton, PA, New York City and Binghamton, NY. His other roles include Ferrando in Mozart’s Cosi fan Tutti, Tito, in Mozart’s La Clemenza di Tito, Alfredo, in Verdi’s La Traviata, and this season is taking on the roles of Ernesto, in Donizetti’s Don Pasquale, and Don Ottavio in Mozart’s Don Giovanni.

Mr. Nanni’s acting accomplishments include the roles of Romeo in Shakespeare’s Romeo & Juliet, Puck in A Mid-Summer Nights Dream, and several Gilbert & Sullivan operettas  Mr. Nanni currently resides in Binghamton, New York.
